Native Instruments was founded in 1996. They were originally known for their software titles such as Generator, Reaktor and Dynamo. Products such as Battery, Pro 5 (later Pro-52), B4 and Absynth started to gradually creep into the music production arsenal - eventually replacing hardware sound modules and synths alike. Since their inception, Native Instruments software has continued to innovate and push the boundaries of possibilities of software synthesis.
The introduction of Kontakt, Intakt and Kompakt (the latter two now discontinued), has forever changed computer-based music creation, software sampling and music instrument software libraries. The full potential of Native Instruments software was held back only by computing limitations. Gradually, as computer processors became more powerful and affordable, so did Native Instruments' software. Kontakt and most of Native Instruments' other titles are now bundled together as part of Native Instruments Komplete.
I still remember Komplete 1 as a limited time offer from Native Instruments. It wasn't delivered in the compact (sub 500g) packaging of the new Komplete 11, however arrived in a huge parcel directly from Native Instruments. All titles were shipped together in their original individual boxes which probably weighed more than 5kg with all the packaging, printed manuals and DVDs.
Komplete is now in its 11th version. Since version 8, it has been available in two variants - Komplete & Komplete Ultimate. Native Instruments have now created the most comprehensive MUST-HAVE software bundle available to musicians, composers, sound designers, DJs and producers today. As always with Komplete upgrades, Native Instruments have added more software instruments, effects and sound libraries.
Also new to Komplete 11 is Komplete Select - an introductory light version of Komplete (this is also included free with products such as Maschine and Komplete Kontrol S Keyboards).
India - Part of Komplete 11.
Komplete 11 features 45 products, 13,000 sounds with over 155GB of content. Komplete now includes brand-new soft-synth FORM, Reaktor 6, Una Corda, India, Replika, Strummed Acoustic & Kinetic Metal.
Replika XT - part of Komplete 11 Ultimate.
Komplete 11 Ultimate has 87 products, a staggering 18, 000 sounds (over 500GB!), and marks the introduction of Symphony Essentials - brand new scoring tools PLUS: Flesh, Emotive Strings, Replika XT, and ALL of Komplete 11!
