Re-amping is a process often used in multitrack recording in which a recorded signal is routed back out of the digital audio workstation environment and run through external processing. It allows you to focus on capturing the artist's performance first and play back the recorded audio program at a later time for the purpose of adding effects, ambience, or to change the tonality. Re-amping can also be applied to other instruments, such as drums, synthesizers, and virtual instruments.
