CAR-BLUERANGER
Type: Pedals & Effects
While staring at Stevie Ray's statue in Austin, Carl decided to add a Texas-style overdrive to the Vintage lineup.
Equally suited to single coils or humbuckers and with a True Bypass Switch, the Blue Ranger also incorporates a 'dual-clip' circuit to keep the sound un-muffled and clear at all levels. The overly simple controls (Level for overall volume, Gain for the amount of overdrive, and Tone for fine-tuning your sound) quickly take you from big open Hendrix-y chords to saturated SRV type leads, and beyond!
The Blue Ranger will actually cross the border into Fuzz with the Gain full out. Housed in the cool new diecast housing with mini-knobs and cool retro color, Blue Ranger can be powered by a 9v battery, but we always recommend a regulated power supply for the optimum response!
The Level knob adjusts the overall level of the Blue Ranger. By adjusting this knob (in conjunction with the gain) you can match or exceed the bypass signal for rhythm or solo work.
The Drive knob adjusts the amount of overdrive, from light crunch; at full counter-clockwise, to full, fat overdrive with loads of sustain at full clockwise"¦. and everything in between. Regardless of the amount of overdrive, the Blue Ranger always produces those great 'vintage mid-tones that seem to cut right through the mix in both live and recording sessions.
The Tone knob on the Blue Ranger is a high-cut filter. With the knob set at full clockwise, you enjoy the full bandwidth of frequencies, so as you turn the knob counterclockwise, you start to filter out the high frequencies. This allows you to fine-tune your tone regardless of which guitar/pickup you are using. You might find at high gain settings that reducing the highs will tighten up the sound, and at lower gain settings, the high frequencies will add some bite and crispness to your notes.
Our Bypass button; which switches the Blue Ranger on or off, is True Bypass, which means that you are either getting 100% of this great effect, or 100% of your signal is going on to the next effect or your amp"¦no buffering!
