Stylophone S-1 Pocket Synthesizer

2 In Stock

The Original Pocket Synthesizer

The Stylophone has been used by many great artists including David Bowie, Kraftwerk, Blondie, The White Stripes and Jarvis, securing its place in music history. Today the Stylophone is used in new and inventive ways – from hip-hop to classical, metal to folk, there’s always room for its unique sound.

The Stylophone was invented in 1968 by Brian Jarvis of Dubreq Studios, London. Repairing a toy piano for his niece, Brian had the idea to replace the toy keys with electronics, creating a monophonic organ and a unique, electronic sound. Designed with a simple oscillator, controlled by a metal keyboard on a printed circuit board and played with a hand-held stylus, the Stylophone was born.

The latest Stylophone features the same iconic, analog sound as the original from 1968.

The Stylophone is easy to play, keyboard operated and you can take it anywhere!

Play by tapping and sliding the connected stylus along the touch-sensitive metal surface. Each segment on the surface plays a different note. It’s easy to play, perfect for beginners and experienced musicians!

PORTABLE & BATTERY-POWERED

At less than 12cm wide, the Stylophone will fit right in your coat pocket. It runs on 3 x AA batteries, and features a built-in speaker and headphone socket – so you can play it everywhere you go.

CONNECT TO YOUR OTHER GEAR

Connect the Stylophone to your computer and other gear to enhance your sound possibilities! Use a 3.5mm Stereo cable to connect into the line input on your PC, and use your preferred software to record and manipulate your Stylophone sounds.
