Digital mixers (also known as digital consoles), allow connectivity of various audio sources (such as microphones and instruments) and, at the very least, change the volume levels of each source independently. The incoming audio sources that are plugged into the mixer are then ‘summed’ to an output stereo (left/right) signal.
