The Warm Audio WA-2A Tube Opto Compressor looks to be the real deal! Well...a damn good re-creation of one! Based on the iconic Teletronix LA2A, the WA-2A has followed the original schematic, and uses Cinemag transformers, found in all of Warm Audio’s current product line. Another key design point is the type of tubes controlling the attack and release that Warm Audio have chosen - Kenetek, which Warm Audio claim to be the most sought after for recreating the legendary sound of the LA2A. The WA-2A also features an exceptional internal power supply (no wall-worts!), and a stereo-link feature for connecting two units together.
FEATURES
True to its inspiration; the WA-2A boasts an all tube, completely discrete signal path with through-hole component topology. It also features custom, large-core Cinemag input and output transformers, four premium vacuum tubes, and the legendary Kenetek opto-cell, considered by many to be the world’s finest.
No plug-in or other compressor type quite compares to the warm, forgiving, fluid qualities of this classic optical tube compressor.
