The Research and Development team at Focal allocated a great amount of time and effort to come up with a headphone that provides a high degree of accuracy, while guaranteeing comfort and isolation, to ensure portability without compromising the monitoring experience. Lensys Professional achieves this by gathering some of Focal’s outstanding innovative technologies.
PATENTED SPEAKER DRIVERS AND FOCAL EXPERTISE
Focal engineers chose a 15/8" (40mm) aluminium/magnesium electrodynamic driver with an 'M'-shaped dome, an exclusive innovation, that allows for incredibly precise sound reproduction. Aluminium is used to increase the dome's rigidity and greatly reduce distortion, while magnesium helps to ensure excellent damping. Thanks to this combination of materials, the driver delivers deep bass, accurate high frequencies, and crystal-clear midrange. Meanwhile, the 'M' shape of the dome achieves exceptional rigidity for a linear frequency response and improved sound dispersion. The drive unit components are angled within the earcups to enhance stereo imaging, while the acoustic load is optimized to deliver performance similar to that of a bass-reflex loudspeaker, for low-end extension.
COMFORT AND ISOLATION
Controlling and ensuring proper sound propagation in headphones is a great challenge. But, for the Lensys Professional, from the cushion depth to the thickness and type of materials enveloping the drivers, and, of course, the composite material of the driver itself, every part was optimized
so that it becomes a contributor to an overall incredible performance. Since comfort is a necessity for professional headphones designed for lengthy sessions, Focal paid close attention to this need. The Lensys Professional are lightweight, at 10.8oz (306g), and feature memory foam earpads, providing a comfortable fit and excellent sound isolation from external noise. As flexible as it is solid, the headband is covered with a breathable fabric and follows a smooth curve, ideal for over-the- head wear. By incorporating high-quality, long-lasting materials, these headphones are equipped to journey with you wherever you go.
