The H200 is a versatile closed-back headphone designed from the ground up to benefit from ADAM Audio’s 25 years’ experience as a manufacturer of monitoring solutions. Its modern yet unobtrusive industrial design brings style to working environments without compromising on functionality or audio quality.
The headphone’s PEEK diaphragm drivers and acoustical housing deliver the exceptional sound quality for which ADAM Audio is known, while its lightweight but considered construction ensures a comfortable fit and good sound isolation. The changeable headband padding and memory foam earpads, detachable main cable, and general robustness ensures a long life even in rough studio environments. A high-quality soft carry bag allows for convenient transportation.
A distinct advantage of the H200 is the purpose-built ADAM Audio Headphone Utility DAW plug-in. The included software offers a range of optimisation tools for the H200 as well as a spatialisation feature that uses advanced crossfeed techniques to better simulate how humans perceive sound in space.
PEEK Performance Drivers
The H200 features a 40mm Polyether Ether Ketone Driver (PEEK) that offers a smooth and balanced frequency response of 2 Hz - 23.5 kHz, plentiful SPL, and low distortion. It is combined with a light-weight neodymium magnet system for crystal-clear sound.
Faux Leather and Soft Cloth Earpads
The H200 comes with an easy to clean faux leather earpad as standard, or a soft cloth option is available as a separate accessory. Both options feature memory foam to ensure a comfortable fit, dampen internal resonances, and provide excellent isolation for recording or when working in noisy environments. Differences in frequency response due to the different acoustic properties of the available earpads can be compensated for in the DAW plug-in.
Anodized Aluminium Yoke, Durable Headband and Replaceable Padding
Chosen for their strength, comfort, and durability, the headband components offer a firm but not excessive clamping force, and the padding is easy to keep clean and replaceable if damaged. The result is a good over-ear seal that controls unwanted resonances especially in the problematic 70-150 Hz frequency band.
Dual-Sided Connectivity
The audio cable can be attached to the H200 on either the left or right side using the carefully angled and concealed 2.5mm input jack with a locking collar mechanism. Unlike bayonet or screw-in mechanisms, the collar mechanism will release when under significant pressure to prevent damage to the cable or headphone. This facilitates a more efficient connection to source equipment and allows damaged cables to be easily replaced.
Detachable & Durable Enamelled Cable
The provided detachable audio cable is 3m in length and was chosen for its durability, flexibility, and low mechanical noise. It terminates with a 3.5mm connection with a 6.3mm adapter also included. A shorter 1.2m cable and spiralled 3m cable are also available as separate accessories.
ADAM Audio Headphone Utility Plug-In
The included ADAM Audio Headphone Utility is designed for the optimisation of the H200 headphone and can be downloaded free of charge upon product registration. While the H200 sound great straight out of the box, source equipment impedance or varying earpad materials have an influence over perceived sound quality. Furthermore, traditional headphones have a restricted stereo image when compared to loudspeakers due to their inherent design. The Headphone Utility is designed to sit on the master channel of your DAW and offers a range of optimisation tools as well as a spatialisation feature that offers a more natural stereo image.
