The Audio Technica ATH-R70x is the company's flagship pro open headphone. Much like the ATH-M70x, the R70x is designed as a reference headphone but the open-back design will be more comfortable for longer listening sessions and weighs only 210 grams! Why choose an open back headphone over a closed back headphone? Because of the open design headphones seem to breath, and connect you more to the room rather than being isolated from from it. This means they are less fatiguing. You typically buy closed back headphones for recording and open when mixing. These new Audio Technica R70X sound great, are comfortable and built very solidly.
