Exploring the Spectrum

Since the introduction of the Moog 907 Fixed Filter Bank in the 1960s, synthesists have explored the spectrum of sound, crafting lush vowel tones and evolving timbral textures. Unlike traditional fixed filter banks, Spectravox's filters are dynamically adjustable, allowing for voltage-controlled spectral animation and sweeping phaser effects. With 10 filters featuring variable resonance, Spectravox offers precise control over tone shaping, from subtle nuances to dramatic transformations.

Versatile Performance

Equipped with a built-in Moog oscillator and white noise generator, Spectravox serves as a standalone synthesizer voice, offering a warm analog sound source. When used as a vocoder with its XLR/jack program input, Spectravox analyzes and maps the spectral characteristics of external sounds onto its filters, enabling expressive vocal modulation or rhythmic percussion effects.

Pushing Boundaries

Inspired by the pioneering vocoding work of Bob Moog and Wendy Carlos, Spectravox pushes the boundaries of analog filter banks. Its 10 state-variable filters can be modulated using internal LFOs or external control.
